Memorial Day Celebration | May 30, 2011
On Monday, May 30, 2011 the Crawford Memorial Committee invites you and your spouse to celebrate Memorial Day with other Veterans, Patriots, and Friends of MSG William J. Crawford, Tri-Lakes region's only Medal of Honor recipient.
• Begin the morning at 8:00 am with breakfast at The Depot Restaurant & Lounge (American Legion Post) - Cost is $6.70 with unlimited coffee refills
• Learn about the MSG William J. Crawford Memorial and tour the site where the memorial is to be constructed, a short walk from The Depot Restaurant
• Toast your fallen comrades - All Gave Some-Some Gave All
• Wear your military garb or memorabilia
A Tree is Planted | April 29, 2011
Thanks to the Palmer Lake Elementary School's Green Panthers, the Environmental and Recycling Club, a 5-foot blue spruce was given to the Crawford Memorial Committee and planted at the site of the new MSG William J. Crawford Memorial at the northern end of Palmer Lake. The Green Panthers were on hand to help get this beautiful tree 'grounded' in spite of the gale force winds encountered.
A Highway Named Crawford | March 24, 2011
On March 24, 2011, co-sponsors Representative Amy Stephens of the Colorado House of Representatives and Senator Mark Scheffel of the Colorado Senate led the unanimous approval of a resolution to rename a section of Highway 105 from County Line Road in Palmer Lake to east of Monument Town Hall in Monument, the "Medal of Honor MSG William J. Crawford Memorial Highway."
As stated by the senator, "Master Sergeant Crawford is a member of 'The Greatest Generation' and it's appropriate that we honor his memory and service with House Joint Resolution 11-1012. It was Master Sergeant Crawford's service, and those like him, that makes our way of life possible."

A Call for Artists was sent to request proposals for the sculpture that sets into the center section of the MSG William J. Crawford Memorial wall. It commemorates MSG William J. Crawford, Tri-Lake's only Medal of Honor recipient. The Crawford Memorial Committee is pleased to announce that Picture This on Granite, North American leader in High Definition laser etching was awarded the contract and will complete the center section and two side-sections.
