How To Apply
The Crawford Memorial Committee would like to recognize and honor all Veterans from the Palmer Divide region of Colorado. In order to accomplish this, the MSG William J. Crawford Memorial includes both a Wall of Valor & Freedom Trail section designed specifically for recognizing our Veterans. Please read the specific Wall of Valor & Freedom Trail descriptions and eligibility requirements below.
Wall of Valor
The Wall of Valor section of the MSG William J. Crawford Memorial will memorialize the heroic acts of valor performed by Veterans from the Palmer Divide region of Colorado. Any Veteran meeting the requirements will have his or her name, rank, branch of service and medal awarded for valor engraved on the Wall of Valor.
The following requirements must be satisfied:
1) Must be a Veteran with honorable service to the United States Armed Forces (e.g. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines & Coast Guard).
2) Must have personally resided within the Palmer Divide region for a combined total of 60 months. The Palmer Divide region is defined as:
North Boundary - County Line Road
East Boundary - Highway 83
South Boundary - North Gate Boulevard / North Gate Road
West Boundary: Pike National Forest
3) Must have received an individual award for valor from the United States Armed Forces. Or, must have been taken prisoner or held captive while engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States. The awards to satisfy this requirement include the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross, Silver Star, Prisoner of War Medal, or any other dual-purpose decoration issued with the “V” device for valor. More information on valor-specific or dual-purpose decorations is available on the 'About Valor' page.
Freedom Trail (Paver Stone)
The Freedom Trail section will pay tribute to the honorable service of Veterans connected—albeit loosely—to the Palmer Divide region of Colorado. Any Veteran meeting the requirements is eligible to have his or her name, rank, and branch of service engraved on a paver stone and set within the Freedom Trail.
The following requirements must be satisfied:
